The Marketing Analytics Manager is responsible for delivering high impact analyses that provides the marketing team and the business insights on acquiring and retaining customers for Gumtree efficiently.

You will be imbedded in the Marketing team (Brand, Communications, Digital, CRM) and be supported by the Analytics CoE (FAST). Finance, Analytics and Strategy team (FAST) empowers data driven decisions through strategic insights, including; user behaviour, supply and demand dynamics, performance measurement, financial planning, and product and marketing efficiency.

Overview

The Marketing Analytics Manager is experienced in using data to drive strategy, optimise campaign efficiency, understands incrementality and drive marketing effectiveness. You understand the dynamics of the competitive marketplace Gumtree is leading. You have a communication style that will allow you to engage with senior leadership and work across teams consisting of financial analysts, marketers, product managers and product developers to effectively deliver actionable results.

What will you be doing on a day-to-day basis?

  • Set-up, manage, maintain and dashboards and reporting structure for operational metrics across marketing
  • Supporting marketing functions of digital performance, CRM, brand, PR, Social Media and content
  • Application of statistical, analytical and data synthesis skills to correlate business performance to marketing investments
  • Recognise user behaviour and competitive pressures to identify opportunities to improve marketing effectiveness and growth
  • Use advanced modelling to gain understanding and provide a clear narrative of the drivers/anchors of customer behaviour
  • Lead marketing teams in their interpretation of; campaign results, brand and performance health metrics, channel efficiency, optimisation & ROI, acquisition and retention drivers and strategic marketing tests
  • Modelling to understand role of channels and incrementality of marketing activity and implementation and mastery of tools to measure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Weekly reporting on insights and strategic recommendations delivered through presentations to marketing team and wider senior and team stakeholders


Your Background:


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the digital media analytics space
  • Proven ability in clearly defining a problem, collating the required information, analysing the results and synthesizing a compelling argument.
  • Very strong analytical, reporting and visualization skills
  • Advanced technical skills in Microsoft Excel and SQL. Experience with Hadoop (Pig, Hive, and/or Spark/Scala) and statistical analysis tools (R or Python)
  • Sound digital acumen and hands on experience in measurement, performance and optimisation tools (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Attribution methodologies)
  • Sound knowledge of digital ecosystem (CRM, Google DBM, Adobe DMP/DSP, Salesforce/Krux)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to successfully work autonomously and partner across multiple functions in an organisation
  • The skill to distil complicated analyses/predictive models in an easy way to colleagues and management.
  • Ability to work in an agile and flexible environment where change is a part of the day-to-day environment
  • The mindset to take initiative, go that extra mile when needed, act with integrity and celebrate success after achievements
  • The ideal candidate for the position will have experience in consulting or ecommerce environment working on projects that have enabled them to develop a solid range of quantitative and operational experience.
