Strategic objective

The Growth Marketing Manager is responsible for customer acquisition and reactivation and is specialised at scaling quality traffic to conversion. Your aim is to identify, coordinate and execute on growth opportunities, coordinate and collaborate with key partners to drive growth plans and optimise areas of the customer journey to drive repeat behaviour. The successful candidate will oversee both organic and paid digital growth and partner with the wider marketing, product and tech teams to experiment and drive creative solutions to deliver growth efficiently and effectively.

Key responsibilities

  • Create and oversee the organic and paid digital growth strategy to fuel growth for Gumtree Australia

  • Drive customer insights, define and prioritize growth objectives

  • Envision the infrastructure that enables experimentation, quick decisioning, analysis of user behaviour and integrating tools into analytics framework

  • Drive incremental growth efficiently and maximise return on investment

  • Ideate, drive experiment to test ideas, then optimise to drive acquisition and reactivation

  • Develop audience segmentation approach, utilising tools such as Adobe Audience Manager

  • Execute paid digital activities including SEM, remarketing, Social, App acquisition and other digital opportunities

  • Coordinate approach through CRM, marketing and onsite including CRO/growth hacking recommendations

  • Propose creative ideas to attract new prospects improve conversion and balance supply and demand

  • Identify and action opportunities to improve inefficiencies within the marketing technology ecosystem

  • Lead and influence the wider business on the criticality of growth marketing and provide technical guidance

  • Work with and drive relevant agencies to deliver exceptional value to the business

  • Budget management, deliver all activity within the agreed budget and raise PO’s for all campaign expenses

  • Measure and report performance of all campaigns and initiatives and assess against our mutually defined goals.

Selection criteria for success

  • 7+ years’ experience in a growth marketing and/or digital acquisition role

  • Fluency in SEO, ASO, CRO and organic growth

  • Extensive use of data to understand customers, search engines, digital and AB testing tools to analyse and make decisions

  • Consistent record of deliverables on complex and loosely defined problems

  • Strong knowledge of data analytics including Google suite – Analytics, Tag Manager, Search Console, marketing platforms, SEO tools such as Botify, SEMRush, Screaming Frog, Facebook Ads Manager

  • Platforms such as Jira, Tableau, Adobe Audience Manager (or similar DMP)

  • Curiosity to continuously improve marketing performance and efficiency

  • Balance both strategy and execution
