About the role
This exciting new role reports directly to our Managing Director of our Australian business and will play a pivotal role on our Australian executive team. After acquiring the vertical motors business in 2019 (Autotrader & CarsGuide) we are transforming our business in Australia and creating one integrated team that will drive the vision and strategy of both our horizontal (Gumtree) and vertical (Motors) business.
Our CMO will be responsible for providing the overall marketing leadership and strategy playing a key role in achieving the company’s short and long term growth plans. In close coordination with the balance of the executive team they will strive to place the company in a position of competitive advantage. They will be leading a large team of marketing professionals and will have the unique opportunity to craft our combined marketing structure required to support our combined strategies in Australia. They will understand the entire customer funnel and know how to build and drive initiatives which attract users at every point of the customer journey.
As a key business and revenue owner, they will be part of our Australian executive leadership team and help craft the strategy for the organization.
Lead growth marketing for our Australian brands and market position; including; brand & campaigns, PR, performance marketing, marketing intelligence, customer engagement (CRM), SEO, data, B2B, and partnership marketing to enable business outcomes.
Design the future state of the marketing team!
Develop and implement cutting edge marketing strategies to drive acquisition, engagement, conversion and brand equity.
Partner closely with our Commercial and Product and Technology teams to create and deliver on a winning marketing strategy and plan that will support our business strategy.
Relentlessly improve how we measure success, from KPI development through to scalable processes and ROI.
Bring a commercial rigour to planning and budgeting, ensuring all key activities are measured and investments are tracked and monitored.
Maintaining strong communication channels with cross-functional teams to develop on the marketing strategy and approach.
Instil a customer centric mindset across the marketing team, leveraging customer experience to inform target markets, campaign design and decision making.
Marketing Strategy & Implementation
Marketing leader with experience in leading performance/digital marketing teams and building consumer facing digital brands at scale in a two-sided marketplace.
12+ years experience in progressive marketing roles including 5+ year track record of building, leading, and enabling marketing teams ideally at a CMO level.
Have deep understanding of customers needs, preferences & behaviours and understand how to use the right data & insights to deliver strategic commercial value.
Strong analytical skills to tell the story and provide detailed recommendations for the business.
Demonstrated experience across digital, CRM, SEO, social, data, PR, Brand.
Knowledge of CRM platforms like adobe are desirable.
Trade marketing experience is desirable.
Proven record at developing high-performance growth marketing capabilities that deliver on business outcomes.
