Our Insights team is a part of eBay Ads North America Marketing organization. From our first-party shopper data to third-party syndicated research, insights are the secret to our success and will drive our business into the future. Whether you are helping brands understand their customers best, evaluating the success of their advertising campaigns, or fueling our storytelling efforts, you will be a crucial partner to our customer success, brand partnerships, operations, partner development, and leadership teams. This role reports into the Senior Manager of Insights.
The ideal candidate has a passion for finding a needle in a haystack. You are not only comfortable getting deep in the data, you love discovering compelling insights and powerful stories in the numbers. You are a hypothesis-driven, creative problem solver and can bring your left and right brain to work every day. This is a newly reimagined role, so the ability to pivot and flex to meet the needs of the business is essential.
Work with internal teams to identify new/growth opportunities across our various partner segments (brands, SMBs); you will serve as a strategic consultant and data analyst while driving toward successful business outcomes.
Take ownership of scoping data needs from multiple partners, analyzing data, finding insights in the data
Demonstrate the power of eBay’s 1st party data to help clients understand how they can improve their success on the eBay platform
Become a specialist in eBay data, crafting new data methodologies, and identifying/resolving data issues
Be prescriptive regarding the use of 3rd party research to complement and round out our 1st party stories
Manage/prioritize multiple requests at one time and deliver projects on time
5+ years of experience in a B2B commercial organization; bonus points for serving in analytics/insights roles at a digital media publisher, ad tech company, research firm (comScore, Kantar, etc.), or advertising agency.
Demonstrated ability to make the complex simple and translate large amounts of data into compelling insights
Experience with business intelligence tools, such as Tableau or Domo; Salesforce and SQL a plus
Experience working with 1st party data, AB Tests, syndicated audience research and 3rd party data/insights partners
Proven track record to work across different functions, both technical and non-technical
Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to effectively balance multiple priorities
