We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer (d/f/m) to become part of the Data Strategy team.

Our Team brings fast and reliable data to the people who need it by transforming our data and analytics architecture. Your role:

  • Design and build a fast-access, integrative cloud-based data lake / data mesh solution together with our team’s outstanding engineers
  • Build a unified framework integrating heterogeneous user data ready to answer business-critical questions - at the end of 2022 we want every analyst and data scientist at to use your solution!
  • Collaborate with our data science and analytics teams to understand their data needs and how to best meet them
  • Design solutions with a focus on cloud, PaaS, SaaS, and serverless services
  • Build and improve microservices
  • Mentor junior developers to grow into seniors and improve analytical skill sets across the organization

Your profile:

  • You have at least 4 years of experience in designing and building big data and streaming solutions with high-throughput technologies, especially Kafka and Spark
  • You acquired hands-on experience building a data lake / data mesh preferably in a cloud environment
  • You are proficient in Scala. Knowledge of Java or Python is a plus
  • You have a proven record of successfully integrating business-critical data from different sources into a common platform
  • You feel at ease with advanced SQL and RDBMS (ex. MySQL) yet also noSQL solutions (e.g. mongoDB)
  • Prior experience with cloud run and cloud functions is a big plus
  • Knowledge of data visualisation, dashboarding and exploration tools (ex. DataStudio, Looker, Tableau) or advanced data analysis (Pandas, R, etc.) is a plus
  • You are a solid problem-solver with the ability to analyze and break down problems
