Social Marketing Optimization Analyst

Role Description

This is a unique opportunity to change the way eBay markets to customers through social marketing channels and accelerate company wide growth.

We are looking for an optimisation analyst, with strong analytics and scripting skills to help revolutionize our performance marketing efforts through paid social media. The role will focus on delivering Analysis and modelling to inform, inventory, audience and bidding techniques. Operating with a fast test and learn mentality, the role will be fully integrated into the operating team and will drive changes directly to marketing activity.

The perfect candidate will have experience of working with performance marketing through Facebook, optimizing feeds and audiences to deliver substantial growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Social team to identify insights and modelling opportunities

  • Build various models to optimize performance of the channel, including:

    • Bidding approaches

    • Inventory selections and structure of feeds

    • Audience approaches

  • Focus will be primarily on acquisition of new customers but will also include retargeting of existing customers.

  • Liaise with analysts and data scientists in wider org and utilize approaches for the channel

Skillset Requirements

  • In depth knowledge of machine learning techniques and statistical modelling

  • Experience of deploying techniques into real world applications

  • Experience of working with large data-sets

  • Translate data and results into actionable learnings

  • Experience with SQL, Python and/or R

  • Fast learner, and adaptable

  • Independent, self-starter approach to work

BS degree in a technical discipline required. The ideal candidate will possess 2+ years of experience working on Social performance marketing.
