About the team:

Classifieds is shaping the future of local commerce by bringing people together through an enriched online experience that allows them to work closely with the community around them. We are comprised of more than 1,000 people who are passionate for local trade and maintaining the customer-centric nature of the Group, while exploring growth opportunities in both the countries where eBay Classifieds Group already has a presence and in prospective markets.

The person we are looking for is passionate about testing and Quality Assurance and loves to work with cross-functional teams. You enjoy enabling your team members to deliver great functionalities with taking risk in mind. You have an extensive experience in online or related areas, with at least 6+ years in the technology field. Furthermore, we need someone who lives and breathes Agile development, can focus on delivering, wants to participate in continuously improving how we work, and has an interest in how we can do Quality Assurance in a world where we don't have the time to do the testing before a functionality goes live.

We work in autonomous, self-organising teams called Customer Journey teams. The teams are cross-functional, including both tech-, product-, analytics- and UX competencies. The Journey teams are responsible for the customer journey on our platform and they use experimentation to discover new and improved functionalities for our customers. As a QA Engineer you will be part of a QA Team that is helping these Journey teams to manage risk and ensure high quality in our products.

What we expect from you:

  • The ability to coach, train and guide your team in testing great products;
  • You have a solid experience within the QA/Testing area, especially test prioritisation based on risk level, test design and test techniques;
  • Embrace A/B testing and testing in production;
  • A creative mindset;
  • Self-starting mentality;
  • Analysing product requirements/stories, crafting and aligning test and monitoring approaches with developers, product owners and business partners;
  • Ability of Working in a highly interactive Agile delivery team;
  • Contributing to Continuous Delivery by working with developers on improving our test automation;
  • Enthusiastically solving problems, suggesting process automation and improvements;
  • Advanced level of English (written and spoken);
  • Can lead without authority;

A big plus would be:

  • Understanding the challenges of a high traffic platform;
  • Dutch language skills;
  • An object oriented language like Java or functional language like Scala;
