About the team:

Classifieds is shaping the future of local commerce by bringing people together through an enriched online experience that allows them to work closely with the community around them. We are comprised of more than 1,000 people who are passionate for local trade and maintaining the customer-centric nature of the Group, while exploring growth opportunities in both the countries where eBay Classifieds Group already has a presence and in prospective markets.

The Small Medium Businesses team:

  • is responsible for all onsite revenue generated by Goods & Services sellers on Marktplaats and 2dehands. We work together with journey teams, pricing, marketing and other departments to increase performance for customers and Marktplaats/2dehands.
  • implements the newly defined SMB-strategy. A strategy is developed to cater better to the needs of SMB sellers and with that increase monetization of this target group. A dedicated product and tech team was created to implement the proposition for Marktplaats/2dehands.

Job Description

Are you an experienced marketing professional, who excels in turning ad hoc issues into opportunities by using strategic agility and strong executional skills? We invite you to join us! In this role you are working together with many specialists in the organization who all play a part in your success, especially the Marketing and Customer Relations department.


  • You are responsible for the marketing strategy for SMB
  • You take a leading role in defining and managing the proposition for our SMB seller segments
  • You are responsible for the marketing approach for the launch of new SMB propositions and optimizations of our current propositions.
  • You co-create the communication strategy for SMB-sellers together with marketing and customer relations
  • You co-create the CRM strategy and flows together with marketing and Customer Relations
  • You have a supporting role to the marketing team for implementation of the communication strategy throughout all touch points and support them defining the right messaging
  • You have a supporting role to the SMB business departments in managing the SMB marketing calendar and priorities
  • You build effective relationships with Marketing, Customer Relations, Finance and Product teams and foster a collaborative, open approach to share standard methodology across the wider eCG organization


Job Requirements

  • 7+ years’ experience B2B marketing
  • Proven experience in e-commerce or classifieds
  • Proven expertise in creation and introduction of new propositions from a marketing perspective
  • Proven track record of defining and implementing a marketing strategy in multi-disciplinary teams, including CRM
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A highly driven commercial marketeer who is passionate about customer focused monetization models, innovation and delivering exceptional results
  • Ability to effectively navigate and influence formally and informally
  • Proven ability to work together in multi-disciplinary teams
  • In-depth operational understanding of digital advertising
  • Strong conceptual and abstract thinking capabilities combined with the ability to present complex concepts in an easily comprehensible way
  • Engaging individual who is fun to be around and to accomplish results together
