Director of People Strategy & Programmes

The Role

We are looking for a unicorn!An all-rounder who can narrate our strong People Strategy, drive our People Programmes, nurture our organizational change capability and be a credible counsel to our organizational operating model and design.

Reporting to the Chief People and Communications Officer, you are passionate about people!

Key Priorities for 2022

  • Build the 2026 People Strategy: ​ break down the current business strategy and identify all People elements required to succeed in the implementation.
  • Set up our People Programmes function: design the ways of working and build the team!
  • Pilot our new operating model ensuring we have the right organizational design to support our new business strategy: ​​Most People Teams forget to set up the rules for the organizational development. They just leave the company growing as it wants to. Adevinta understands we need tomanage our growth, planning and managing our opportunities and coststo fulfil our ultimate potential.
  • Ensure the business is supported throughout a period of intense transformation with robust people change management protocols
  • Captain the team through the 2022 Roadmap ensuring out critical programmes have strong project delivery capability
  • Analyze the current status of the organization and modern trends visible in the market


A visionary and strategic leader, with excellent communication and influencing skills. Someone who leads with passion with deep subject matter expertise gained within a Global Communications function. A person who has entrepreneurial tendencies who has a proclivity to get things done in a manner that embraces our Adevintans. We have an ambition as a team to be famous for having Meaningful Connections with both our external audiences, employees and stakeholders, this person will exemplify this.

We are looking for someone who can

  • Innovate with a keen interest in newest thinking around transformation, the future of work, and technology disruptors
  • Lead through change; planning and delivering change to activate large scale business transformation at pace
  • Align and engage leaders to set out an inspiring vision for change
  • Set acase for change and can communicate compelling change stories
  • Drive cultural and behavioral change to empower modern, adaptable digital organizations
  • Plan and manage training and change capability development build organizational resilience and sustain new ways of working
  • Determine the impact of changes and undertake mitigation planning
  • Understand change analytics to baseline and monitor progress of change
  • Drive agility and continuous improvement, using data to make informed decisions and ensure that the organization has the mind-set and capability to respond to new insight and disruption
  • Develop journeys, to support the end to end transformation journey prioritizing people and customer needs

We are looking for someone who is

  • Visionary, outcome-oriented; who demonstrates a determination to drive things forward, and will make sure decisions are made and followed through;

  • Curious and ambitious - you seek opportunities outside your comfort zone and take risks rather than miss opportunities.

  • Diplomatic and collaborative. A highly effective relationship builder, with proven success in managing the interests and demands of multiple stakeholders with professional integrity.
  • Comfortable handling many diverse projects simultaneously.
  • Commercial-minded with solid understanding of business drivers and industry trends.
  • Exceptional written and spoken English. Knowledge of Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian or other European languages is a plus.


This role is global but will ideally be located in Amsterdam, Paris or Barcelona and relocation is on offer to the locations.
